PHILANTHROPY GUIDELINES
- * The service of Philanthropy shall be confidential.
- * All requests for aid shall be confidential.
- * Applications for service shall be submitted to the Philanthropy Chair
- * Applications shall be researched for legitimacy. If warranted, contact with the chapter/church of the applicant may be made.
- * Consult with the National Philoptochos Office if necessary for verification.
- * Previous financial assistance from Philoptochos on any level for each applicant shall be recorded.
- * Checks shall be payable to the appropriate agency only, not to applicant, family member, etc.
- * There is a $750 limit on Philanthropy assistance for each case. Request for additional aid will be reviewed by the board.
- If a family member of the Philanthropy Committee applies for assistance, the member shall remove themselves from deliberation.
- * The Metropolitan serves as the advisor to the Philanthropy Committee and shall be consulted for approval.
- * All remaining monies at the end of the calendar year in the Philanthropy account shall carry over to the next year.
- * **Remember…..first the chapter is consulted, then the Metropolis. If further assistance is needed then the Metropolis shall consult National on behalf of the chapter.

National Philoptochos is offering a beautiful Sterling Silver Charm Bracelet with a cross embossed with the detail of Ss Cosmas and Damian, the Holy Unmercenaries and patron saints of Philoptochos.
Cost is $60 plus $7 shipping and handling ($67 total) and all sales are to benefit the National Philoptochos Social Services office. During this time where we see lower levels of giving but increased requests for assistance, this project will insure that no one is turned away.
